The Dream

Some time ago, I dreamt I boarded a bus which was full of people.  There appeared to be one seat available at the front.  However, an elderly woman was sitting there and she was reluctant to move over so I could be more comfortable.  I asked politely if she could please move over so I could be more comfortable.  She did so unwillingly.  Suddenly, I noticed where there was supposed to be roadway, there was water, murky, muddy water.  A flood, apparently and inclement weather.  However, the driver of the bus did not look worried by it, he just kept on driving.

We came across a small ramp in the middle of the roadway.  It looked about ten feet high and at this time, there was even more water on the roadway.  However, the bus driver went over the ramp with ease.  I noticed another empty seat across from me, so I relocated there.  Looking behind me, I saw that there were many empty seats.  This puzzled me because at no time did the bus stop to let off anyone. At this time, we came across another ramp in the middle of the flooded roadway; this one much higher than the last.  Yet again, the driver made it up and over with the same ease he did the first time.  His landing was impeccable and we had reached our destination.

Even though we were driving through flood waters and the sky was heavily overcast, the bus ride was smooth and safe.  I noticed a man riding a motorcycle behind the bus.  I watched him clear the ramp but his landing was terrible.  He hit the ground hard.  I thought he died but he got up, in agony but alive.

Anyway, after being dropped off, a few other people and I made our way towards a building.  The building had two levels.  The lower level had a classroom setting in which I noticed a woman I know personally, who has been a believer for many years.  Two other persons and I did not enter the classroom.  Instead we headed towards a flight of stairs which lead to the upper level of the building, which was brilliantly lit.  So bright was the stairway, that I could hardly see the steps in front of me.

I pondered about what that dream could mean as it was all so vivid and lingered in my mind.  Then the Holy Spirit revealed its meaning to me.  The bus I boarded was Salvation and the Driver was Christ.  The initial full capacity of the bus represented that famous Scripture in Matthew 13 about the parable of the sower.  The elderly woman I met, who did not want to have me sit next to her, was a long-time church goer who still had not grasped the concept of “love your neighbour as yourself.”

The flooded roadway represented trials, persecutions, disappointments and betrayals among other cares of this world.  The ten feet high ramp that appeared in the middle of the flooded roadway represented those really adverse, life changing events that sometimes suddenly appear in your life that make you feel like you cannot go on.  The Driver of the bus, however, takes you through the flood waters and over the ramp every time it appears, no matter how high.  We just have to remain in the bus and trust Him.

The man who was following the bus on a motorcycle represented everything else outside the safety of the bus.  Such as false religion, philosophy, traditions and self-reliance.  He was reluctant to leave all those things behind him and just get on the bus.  He thought he could follow the bus on a motorcycle with no covering.

The building with the two levels represented two types of believers; babes in Christ and the mature Christian.  The lower level with the classroom setting was where the babes in Christ remained.

Salvation

“He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins” (Col. Ch. 1 vv 13-14).

In bible terms, salvation is described as being delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the kingdom of the Son of God’s love.  The original Greek (Gk) word for delivered is rhuomai, which translates to be rescued and the Greek word for translated is methistano which means to be transferred or carried away.

So, the scripture verse above could be read as, “He has rescued us from the power of darkness and carried us away into the kingdom of the Son of His love…”  Positionally, born-again believers are in the kingdom of Jesus.  Ephesians Ch. 2 v 6 says, “and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”  Hallelujah!  We are saved and seated in Christ in heaven.

The thing is before salvation could be had, a very costly price had to be paid for us.  Redemption through His blood—Gk. apolutrosis— meaning ransom paid in full.  Operation Redemption occurred over three thousand years ago.  None of us alive today was present when Jesus hung on that wooden cross laden with all the sins of man; i.e. man past, man present and man future. Therefore, according to Dr. Chuck Missler, all our sins were still yet future when He hung on that cross.

Yet, so many are still refusing to accept the great extremes God went to when He sacrificed His only begotten Son for us to be saved from eternal hell and damnation.

“I am the way, the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John Ch. 14 v 6.)

The scripture verse above, is the response Jesus gave to Thomas after he asked Him about ‘the way’ meaning the directions for where He said He was going to prepare a place for us.  As always, when Jesus spoke with His disciples, they were greatly confused and understandably so.  For he spoke of spiritual things to not yet spiritual men.  Jesus is the only way to the Father.  The biker in my dream, like a lot of people, hear that message but their minds are oppressed by a system of isms.

Who then is more qualified to navigate our lives?  The one asking for directions or the one who is The Way?

Jesus says in John Ch. 10 vv 1,9-10 1“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber…9If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved…10The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.”

The thief, who is Satan, embodies the system of isms mentioned above, deceiving multitudes into believing ‘some other way’ besides Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ can give them access to Almighty God.  Sadly, it is the reason some get off the ‘salvation bus,’ driven by Christ.  Some of you may be wondering why the bus stopped and let us off.  Salvation through Christ is a limited time offer and we had reached our destination in Christ Jesus.  He transported us safely and dropped us off at the place He prepared for us, so to speak.

“However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature…and I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ” (1 Cor. Ch. 2 v 4 & Ch. 3 v 1.)

How many of you are still wrapped up in the fundamentals of Christianity?  Isn’t it about time you grew up?  It is time to get out of the classroom.  God desires to reveal the “knowledge of His will” to you but He cannot do that if He has to always go over the initial lesson; that of Jesus Christ and Him crucified.  His Spirit now dwells in us and He desires to not only work in us but also through us for the glory of God and for the edification of the church.

2 Cor. Ch. 4 vv 7 & 9 says, “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us…always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.”

Allow the Spirit of Christ, the Holy Spirit to work in you to bring you maturity.

Be blessed!
