We have learnt in our last post that we have the right to go before the Father without the sense of sin, guilt and inferiority. Sin, because the sin problem has already been taken care of. Guilt, because there is therefore now no condemnation to them in Christ. Now we are going to see that there is no place for inferiority in the kingdom of God.
Before we get into this let us take a look at positional truths again. Remember I said a positional truth is an established truth that cannot be changed by anyone including Satan. Remember when God saved you He justified you then declared you righteous. Now that you are righteous you are sanctified which means you are set apart. You are no longer a part of this world and now belong to His heavenly kingdom. Remember He said in His Word that we are just sojourners here and earth is just a temporary dwelling place for us. While we are here God wants us to understand how to stand in the face of an enemy whose sole purpose is to destroy us. Besides POSITIONAL TRUTH, there is another truth that is called PRACTICAL TRUTH. In order for you to understand what I am saying, you have to understand these two truths.
A practical truth is how we see ourselves. For example, positionally Christ took care of the sin problem. Practically sinning occurs every day. Positionally I am the healed of God. Practically sickness still occurs. However, what you do or what occurs practically has no bearing on who you are positionally.
When Christ died and rose again He was placed at the right hand of God the Father. The Word of God says in Ephesians 1:20-21, King James Version (KJV)
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come.
Let me explain something to you. When a person in authority places you at his right hand, it means you have been placed at the right hand of power. It means you are recognized as having the same power and authority as the person who put you there. Christ was placed at the right hand of the Father, and guess what? He was not placed there alone. We were placed there in Him. Ephesians 2:6, says, 6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
What is this scripture telling you? It is saying when Christ died we died in Him. When He rose from the dead, we rose in Him. When He was seated at the right hand of God we were seated in Him. Let us take a closer look. Christ, being seated means His work is done. He said on the cross “It is finished.” In essence there is nothing left for Him to do as far as works are concerned. Remember Christ sole purpose was to reconcile man to God. This He did when He became the perfect sacrifice and died in place of man on the cross giving man access into the Holiest of Holies which is the very presence of God the Father, taking away the sentence of death (eternal death) which meant total separation from God. We, the body are seated in Him. This means the Father sees the complete work of the body as well. What is the work of the Church? To preach the Gospel of Christ to the world, to demonstrate God’s righteousness in its entirety while demonstrating the defeat of Satan. Remember God always calls things that be not as though they were. Romans 4:17, (KJV) says, 17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations), before him whom he believed, even God, who quickened the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
God was calling Abraham “the father of many nations” even before he started having children. To put it bluntly, God always look at the ending of a thing, not the beginning or the middle. This my brothers and sisters is a Positional Truth. It cannot be changed. God sees the work of the church as completed in Christ positionally even though practically the church is still here. Let me break it down for you further. In order for an architect to build a house he must have the finished plan in his hands. He must see the house in its completed form before he can actually start building it. Even if he has the completed work in his hands, the process of building the house still has to take place. The foundation still has to be laid and the blocks still has to be put down. It is the same with the church. God sees the work of the church as completed in Christ but the church still has to go through the course that is set before her. Isn’t God awesome? When He sees the church He sees her victorious and complete in Christ.
The Word of God says when Christ was seated at the Father’s right hand in the heavenly places He was seated far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come (Ephesians 1:21, KJV).
The bible talks about four categories of demonic power starting from the lowest to the highest. Principality being the lowest and dominion being the highest. Christ was seated FAR above ALL these powers and we are seated IN HIM. Do you understand what this is saying? If Christ is seated at the Father’s right hand far above all powers SO ARE WE. There is no room for inferiority in the kingdom of God because there is nothing left to feel inferior about.
The Word of God says in Luke 10:19 (KJV), Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
You have been given power over ALL the power of the enemy. Christ even made you a promise at the end of the verse. He says “…and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” That is a promise.
You are the righteousness of God in Christ and I am saying this to you again. This is your legacy. Your right standing says you stand before the Father without the sense of inferiority.
I will leave this with you to meditate on until we meet again.
